We are in creation mode too often and we are feeling overwhelmed because of it.
If you are tired of having to come up with your next post from scratch, turn to your existing content instead. You’ve already created it before and many people haven’t seen it.
Don’t fall into the trap of creating, sharing once, and ditching that content. Especially if you have long-form content like blog posts or podcasts. They can be used over and over again in a variety of ways.
What does that look like?
Here are some ways to reuse content for your business to save you time and stress:
- Search your newsletters for a topic or season and copy and rewrite (as needed) an older newsletter. Maybe last summer you sent one that is still relevant. Use it.
- Look at your Instagram Insights and see the post with the most reach, or the most clicks to your site in the past year. Reshare that (change the image and copy as you feel is needed to keep it updated and fresh.)
- Take a series of blog posts and make a new post with a round-up, or share recent posts in your newsletter to remind people about them.
- Turn a popular Instagram post or carousel into a blog post or podcast episode.
- Reupload one of your older podcast episodes that was popular or relevant – record a quick intro to it to explain why you are resharing.
- Turn your podcast topics into blog posts.
There are many ways to repurpose content.
A reminder: Don’t stress about repeating yourself. People need to hear your message over and over again to be reminded of it. Or, perhaps when they first heard it, they weren’t ready to take action.
